Pool Automation vs a Standard Chlorinator

A chlorinator sanitises your water. An automation system controls your entire pool. Here is the difference and when each approach makes sense.

What a standard chlorinator does

A standard salt chlorinator generates chlorine from salt and manages sanitisation. Some models include basic timers for the pump, but they do not coordinate heating, lighting, valves, water features or remote access.

If your only requirement is sanitisation, a quality chlorinator may be all you need.

What a pool automation system adds
