Upgrading an older pool controller doesn't necessarily mean replacing all your existing equipment. In many cases, we can integrate your current pumps, heating, and lighting into a modern automation platform like Pentair IntelliCenter.

What should be assessed before upgrading?

Before recommending a system, we review your current plant room setup. We look at:

• The age and condition of your existing equipment
• Compatibility of variable-speed pumps and heating systems
• Current lighting transformers and wiring
• Whether you have a pool-only or pool-and-spa combination
• Your goals for remote access and smartphone control

Can IntelliCenter work with existing equipment?

Yes, Pentair IntelliCenter is highly adaptable. It can often control non-Pentair equipment using standard relays. For older Pentair systems like EasyTouch or IntelliTouch, upgrade kits are available that replace the main circuit board and control panel without requiring a completely new enclosure.

What photographs are required for a pool automation assessment?

To help us provide accurate advice, please upload clear photographs of:

• Your main pool equipment pad (wide shot)
• The existing controller or timer box (with the door open if possible)
• Any sub-panels or circuit breakers connected to the pool
• Labels on your main pump, heater, and chlorinator
